Warm from the oven "Irish" (not really) Soda Bread Buns.

I am ignoring the thermometer reading this morning. Looking on the bright side. Daylight Saving brings an extra hour of daylight tonight! The recent rain has melted the duvet of snow. And I am imagining Spring. Soda bread and St. Patrick's Day. Daffodils and robin's eggs. The Vernal Equinox is nigh (allegedly). And I am not looking back. 

I am ready for forward motion.

To celebrate the wee bit of Irish in all of us- be it by blood or kindred spirit- I thought I might gather my gluten-free recipes inspired by Celtic tastes. Yes, Lass, that means potatoes. And cabbage, too. Soda breads, salmon, eggs, cottage pies and Spring soups. 

The Vernal Equinox is just around the corner. Flower beds will soon be sprouting tiny green shoots.

I love your recipe collections. I always find something new to try and they have ALWAYS turned out delicious. You are a mad genius. Tonight I think I will try the Easy Agave and Lime Salmon.
You rock and make my life so much easier and enjoyable with super tasty foods that I thought I couldn't eat anymore.

Thanks for reminding me of St. Patrick's day. Since I've come to Spain I've kind of lost track of these things...even though I'll see people celebrating it if I go out walking in town on this day because we have a lot of Irish here.

Thanks for marking St Patrick's Day, Karina - although I am living in Northern Ireland, to my shame, I have never had Colcannon, but then it never looked as tasty as yours. St Patrick's Day was chocolate day as far as we were concerned, the one day when you could break the Lenten fast and indulge in whatever you had given up for 40 days (which was, inevitably, chocolate...)

I just ran across your site and am thrilled to find new and interesting recipes to try! I'm not only gluten-free, but soy-, corn-, and dairy-free as well. Have you ever substituted arrowroot powder for the cornstarch in your baking mix?

Wow, these recipes look amazing! My husband is always challenging me to make gluten-free goods that are just as good as gluten-full (hey, if he doesn't want to cook he just has to deal with my gluten-freeness and be happy I feed him…) and I think there are some recipes here that will win me the prize. Thanks!

Oh, Karina, I am so thankful for your recipes. One of my children has recently been tested as being intolerant to multiple items--wheat, dairy, soy, nuts, eggs, fish, oats, and rice are among the most problematic for him. Finding gluten free recipes that don't involve rice flour is nearly impossible. We have tried several of your wonderful recipes and my other three children (none of whom have any allergy issues) like them too. I've been enjoying the pleasure of baking from scratch and having something tasty that my allergic/intolerant son can actually eat. He also suffers from chronic stomach pain (the doctors can't figure out why, as tests show nothing) and finds his food limitations to be intensely frustrating. All this came out of the blue a couple of years ago. He's only 13 years old. Your recipes have put a smile back on his face. Tasty food that he can eat! Thank you for the work that you have put in to the recipes and your blog. I appreciate this more than I can say.
